In the 21st century teacher has many a lot of things to do, because their students grow up fast along the time. Now as a teacher we had a big duty to be an effective teacher who brings the students to see what is happening in the world. According to Chris Kyriacou (2007, Effective Teaching in Schools) there are three interrelated perspective into an effective teaching they are teacher’s perspective, pupil’s perspective and the last is activities perspective. He also said that when you become a teacher you should doing your work maximal, it’s refer to the quality of time, quality of instruction, and how you make the learning process be an active learning.
For me being an effective teacher is not talking about new appearances which better than old teacher though it was important too. An effective teacher is a teacher who can impart the knowledge indirectly through an active learning. I hope my students will get what I want they have to learn through game, movie, music, drama and etc. I don’t want to make my students only focus on score without knowing why they have to learn. The important thing in learning is you can absorb and apply it well, sometimes people said that result is more important than result. It was remains me when I was in senior high school, my teacher always taught me to get a high score , they only reread and asked us to rewrite what we had read (it was a useless time I ever had).
Now as a teacher, we are going to teach a new student who grow up with a new system in education. Students have responsibility on their learning process they have to think how to solve a problem rather than rewrite textbooks. I think it will be a new challenge for me to always improve my capabilities as a teacher. Through this course PETA (principles of effective teaching assessment) we prepare to be an effective teacher, it means teacher’s candidates will learn about how to asses their students, how to make some fun assignment, and of course we have to learn how to be an effective teacher.

do you have any suggestion to make our students understand with our as teachers expalnation?
in the other words, you wanna explain that teacher should lead the students learn independently, right? and active learning is one way to release that, I agree with you.. :)
green girl => as a teacher we had learn many ways to grab student's attention, it could be games or maybe some activities (fun learning) that make our students feel comfortable in learning..
i know that being a students is not easy at all,but being a teacher is proving that you have a lot of capability to handle your class...

syaqifa => yes, like some lecture said that now teaching is not about force your students to get what do you want but make them realize why they need to learn..and being an effective teacher help you to have an active learning..

well...for me to be an effective teacher who has effective teaching is difficult. but its not imposible for us to learn how to be a good and effective teacher...:)
